Cartwright was wed to Steve Gullion, in 1976. The couple has two children. Angela Cartwright was born in England as the older sister of actor Veronica Cartwright. Veronica Cartwright (born 20 April 1949) was 13 aged at the time she portrayed Cathy Brenner the birthday girl in Alfred Hitchcock's classic 1963 horror film The Birds. Bonanza was among the first television westerns to be broadcast in colour. The story focused on the Cartwrights who were a fictional family of ranchers living in close proximity to Virginia City Nevada a real mining town during the latter part of the 1800s. The character portrayed was the most junior Cartwright son, whose mother (Felicia on the show's pilot but then changed later to Marie) was a widow, and mother whose child had died of illness (episode Marie My Love) was of French Creole descent.
