Anna Silk was born in Fredericton as the child of Peter Silk, an academic, and Ilkay Silk, who is an actress as well as a producer, director and educator, playwright and Director of Drama in St. Thomas University. Her father is from Britain and her mother is a "Turkish ex-pat from Cyprus who is now living in England." Anna's earliest memories include attending play rehearsals as well as watching her mother's work. As a child, she appeared in several commercials. Anna was able to move to Toronto so that her acting skills could develop. In the following years, she was able to move to Los Angeles. Seth Cooperman was introduced to Anna in Los Angeles at an acting workshop in 2007. The two were engaged by 2009. Anna has recently converted to Judaism and they got married in Fredericton. Bo and Lauren's relationship (played Zoie Palmer by Bo) is featured on CNN's most-loved television couple list.
